I know I’ve been very quiet here... the truth is

I know I’ve been very quiet here... the truth is that I just don’t know what to share... but I wanted to share this for now in hopes that it can help encourage us all to keep on talking and communicating with each other. Last week I was having some pretty intense feels and instead of sharing with anyone I shut down attempting to process this all on my own. I ignored my friends that were reaching out and kept all my bubbling emotions to myself feeling like I didn’t want to burden anyone or put more stuff on their plates... everyone’s plates are so full right now ~ but you know what? Eventually I talked, shared, opened up, cried my eyes out and I soon realized that not only did it give me the space to purge it also gave my friends that same space and safety. What was I ever thinking that I should hide all my feelings? Everyone felt so much better after. This was a wonderful reminder that when we share our vulnerabilities it opens the door for others to share theirs too. We are really in this together. So keep on sharing and connecting ~ FaceTime your friends and family or pick up the phone and call! Texting and messaging is wonderful but it doesn’t beat hearing someone’s voice and seeing their face. Sending lots of love to us all ❤️❤️ Cat

If this was labour and I had a Doula she would tell me “you can do this” “I believe in you” “you’ve got this” I’d ask her “when will this ever end?” and she would tell me that nobody can answer that question but it will end and you will get to the other side. I would hug her so tight and cry into her shoulder and wish that she could save me when I came close to my breaking point. She would hug me back, tell me it’s okay to cry and to scream and to get angry. She would remind me that my feelings matter and are valid. Then she would help me find my breath and sit with me in my muck for a bit, holding the space. From there she would help guide me and ground me to find my own strengths and my own power and remind me that I am not alone ❤️ maybe we all just need life Doulas right now?
